Food Review: Kentucky Fried Chicken or KFC Chizza

First of all, I just want to share that I am a big fan of Kentucky Fried Chicken or KFC’s Hot, Crispy & Spicy Fried Chicken. I am also a full pledge KFC gravy lover. But this review is not about that. This is about KFC Chizza. So let’s start. One time, while I am in the KFC counter line, this new food variety at KFC entitled Chizza caught my attention. It cost P125 if you will order it as a la carte, which means no drinks or solo order for those who don’t know the meaning of a la carte.

Since, I am also a pizza lover. I decided to give it a try. Well, it also looks delicious on the promotional image provided at KFC counter. So I got a little curious on the taste. KFC Chizza comes with a small box, the size is like a solo order pizza at a normal pizza store. That’s alright. It cost like a solo pizza.

When I opened it, there’s a small Hot Sauce sachet included for free. hehe. I love spicy foods, that’s why it gets me even more excited.

Then tadah! Chizza has no crust. The chicken itself serves as the crust. Which is indeed thick and juicy looking. Thought it is smaller than the usual pizza we usually order. Since it was fried I guess. Then the moment of truth came, I had my first bite. Well, It just feel ok. Taste like KFC crispy chicken without the hot & spicy blend. I poured a little amount of hot sauce and still, there is nothing special on it for me. It is a little oily, so I had to place it on the box again and use fork to eat it. Hmmm. The flavoring taste like a hawaiian pizza. It is not that cheesy. Pizza sauce is not well distributed on the chicken crust. With a little amount of green bell pepper.

Overall, the experience was just ok. I don’t feel any special ingredient or taste on it. I actually asked myself. Did I really enjoyed it? Not really. Will I buy it again? Probably not. I would rather buy my favorite KFC fried chicken recipe. Well, KFC is always trying their best to make new delicious chicken recipe. So I am still a KFC fan.
